His vision for Biracy was sparked by a recurring challenge he observed in his consulting years: business leaders were often overwhelmed by fragmented advice, contradictory strategies, and buzzword-heavy content that lacked clarity. Biracy was created as a response a resource that prioritizes accessibility, accuracy, and relevance.

Outside of work, Alec is a dedicated mentor to emerging entrepreneurs, an advocate for business literacy, and a lifelong learner. He splits his time between Toronto and London, and when he’s not immersed in business frameworks. You’ll likely find him exploring hiking trails, collecting vintage maps, or reading about global economic history.

A Personal Mission to Share

Alec Drayton has always believed that knowledge, when shared openly and honestly, becomes a powerful tool for growth not just for individuals, but for entire industries. Throughout his 15+ year career in business strategy and organizational development. Alec has worked with a wide range of companies from emerging startups finding their footing to large enterprises navigating complex transitions. No matter the size or sector, one theme remained consistent: people had questions, and not enough trusted spaces existed to find clear, practical answers.

Over time, Alec became increasingly aware of the gap between high-level business theory and the everyday realities professionals face. He found that many were overwhelmed by fragmented advice, conflicting strategies, or vague frameworks that lacked real-world application. It wasn’t just about helping clients anymore it was about helping anyone with the drive to understand business better.

In 2025, Alec launched his personal writing journey as an extension of that belief. Through Biracy, he began sharing not just what he’d learned. But how he’d learned it through hands-on experience, success and failure, collaboration, and continuous learning. His aim was simple: to create a space where people could access reliable. Experience-driven insights on the many facets of business from strategy and growth to management, operations, investment thinking, and beyond.

Today, Alec’s work on Biracy continues to reflect his commitment to transparency, accessibility, and meaningful guidance. He sees every article as a conversation with readers who are curious, motivated, and eager to make more informed decisions. And for him, that’s what makes the work worthwhile.
